Conduit LED Lighting System

Manufactured in the UK, Glasson Electronics Conduit LED forms a 20mm conduit compatible easy to wire LED lamp with single colour, Blue/white, RGB or RGBW options. The system is principally for fixed installations. Each unit comprises an anodised aluminium housing which attaches to a standard conduit round fitting. The system has a round acrylic diffuser with an option for a stainless steel eyelid.

Conduit LED lamps incorporate special microprocessor circuitry to decode our advanced combined power and data technology to control the LEDs. Up to 200 lamps can be connected on a single two conductor cable. Each lamp is independently controllable despite being on the same cable. The system is not polarity sensitive so lamps can connect either way around further simplifying installation.

Conduit LED lamps are powered from a VP or IP series driver using a single two conductor cable. All versions operate at voltages lower than the SELV limit. Connection employs a two part terminal block with connections for in and out as shown opposite.

All Glasson Electronics LED products employ linear current control as opposed to PWM. This provides extremely smooth diming even at low intensities.

Conduit LED Typical Installation

Main Features of the Conduit LED Lighting System

  • Polarity insensitive – connects to the cable either way around.
  • Linear current control (not PWM) for excellent flicker free colours.
  • Excellent step free smooth dimming.
  • Each lamp has a unique address which is user programmed with the hand programmer. The address can be reprogrammed thousands of times.
  • Internal fuse resistor to prevent a single lamp failure compromising the whole system.
  • Dimensions – 69mm diameter
  • Height from top of conduit round fitting 30mm.
  • Height from top of conduit round fitting including eyelid 35mm.
  • Weight 40g.
  • Drive voltage – 24-36V.
  • Current 55mA.
  • Wattage Hi = 1.76W Super High = 2.0W

Operation

A system is comprised of a VP or IP series mains driver. These accept universal mains supply and output a DC voltage with the combined power and data signal modulated on the supply. Up 200 single colour, 170 RGB or 127 RGBW Conduit LED lamps all wire in parallel from the driver output. Lamps can be wired in strings or can be individually wired and connect back to the power unit outputs using terminals or splitters. Once wiring is complete, each lamp is assigned a number using the infra red hand programmer. The number relates to the DMX address and makes a given lamp unique on the system. Note that multiple lamps can be assigned the same number and will then operate from the same DMX Channels. Once installation is complete each lamp will respond to the assigned DMX channels.
